When the weather gets a bit much...

General Information

Items are dispatched with Tracked Special Delivery (1 - 2 Days). Once dispatched, your item should arrive within the given timeframe, however there is always a risk that your shipment could be delayed due to factors beyond our control or the couriers' control, such as adverse weather events.

 

So what happens when the weather wants to throw us a curveball? Keep reading to find out...

My item is delayed...

 

Should your package be delayed, we do not generally offer a refund on delivery, however we may make a discretionary good will gesture.

 

All medical items being delivered to you will have tracking numbers and your package will require someone to be available to accept the delivery / package. Your item should be received by someone in person and ideally not left on your doorstep. If you choose via your tracking link to “leave in your designated safe space”, this is at your own risk and AJ Hill Aesthetics cannot accept any responsibility if your item goes missing.

During heatwaves, what happens with chilled products?

During heatwaves, our pharmacy suppliers usually provide extra ice packs during transit. All pharmacy suppliers ship chilled items in validated temperature-controlled packaging with ice packs to maintain fridge-safe conditions for at least 48 hours.

 

Packaging has been audited to ensure chilled products are kept chilled during the delivery timeframe of 48 hours. Temperature mapping confirms that even if the ice packs have melted on arrival, your medication will have remained within the required temperature range throughout delivery

Following MHRA approval in April 2026, Wegovy pens can now be delivered at controlled temperatures up to 30°C for up to 48 hours during the final delivery stage. This does not affect the medication's quality, safety, or expiry date. If you are not starting treatment immediately, simply place your pen in the fridge when it arrives and use it as normal. ​

However, should the medication break the cold chain or you forget to pop it in the fridge when it arrives, please do not worry.

The medication itself will still be as effective, however it may then affect the shelf life of the product. Much like when you first pierce the end of the pen with your first needle, the same chemical process starts when the pen breaks the cold chain. This is why you no longer need to store the product in the fridge after the first use and can be stored up to 30 degrees (although it does no harm to keep it in the fridge - I myself do that so I know exactly where it is).

With Wegovy, the expiry life is 6 weeks after first use or after it breaks the cold chain.

 

With Mounjaro, the shelf life is 30 days from the day it is first used or if it breaks the cold chain.

 

This gives extra time to use the 4 doses e.g. Dose 1/Day 0, Dose 2/Day 7, Dose 3/Day14 and Dose 4/Day21, leaving quite a few more days as a buffer for any delays or issues.

Mounjaro also offer an assessment tool to assess if your Mounjaro is still safe to use should your pen experience a temperature excursion.
